On February 17, 2009, the largest Congressional aid package was signed into law. Known as Obama's Stimulus Package, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act is pledged to help get the suffering economy back on track.

One group that the package is aimed at helping is the small business owner and entrepreneur. With many people finding themselves without a job, this may be the help that they have hoped would come with the new administration.

With around $787 billion in funds, the Stimulus Package has funds that are designed to give a boost to the small businesses of our country. In fact, the Small Business Administration will see their budget double under the program. What this means to small businesses is a total of more than $6 billion in loans to help keep them financially sound. This could lead to more jobs and a jump-start to local economies that thrive on the small businesses.

In fact, it is small businesses that drive the nation's economy. Traditionally, around 70% of jobs come directly from these business owners. Obama has stated he will "take immediate action to ensure that credit gets flowing again to entrepreneurs and business owners." With the signing of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, it appears that he is keeping his promise.

Many of those we serve are eager to get their share of this money. It is up to the legal professionals to answer any questions and help clients find the facts.
